2 amp heads in, 1 out to cab

Since I now have two amp heads and one cab looking for something I can run both amp heads into and switch which head sends signal to the one cab, eliminating having to switch cabling from head to cab.

I found the Radial Switchbone, which I think would do it, what othr options are there?

Granted, the Switchbone costs as much as the matching H&K cab that goes with the little Tubemeister head. There just isnt a lot of room where I have my guitar gear at currently.

So you're plugging your guitar into both amp heads with a "Y" cable, then you need to switch which amp goes to the spkr?
Do you also need to switch which amp your guitar goes into?

Hadnt really thought about doing a Y cable for guitar to both amps, but yes, Id need to switch which amp the guitr goes to. But that isnt too much of a big deal as the H&K sits on top of my Jubilee head.

Also would prefer something that has an effects loop to run my board to and from.

This may end up being more complicated than I need and be easier to just get the extension cab for the H&K

Why not just get another extension cab for the other amp, and switch between their inputs? If you must have one cab, the 212 can likely be rewired for stereo, but you need to be sure of the impedance of each speaker.

It would be easier and in the long run less expensive to just get the extension cab made for the H&K, then its just switching whats in the loop from one amp to the other build a second board :D

I can’t say it will be cheap but you could plug each speaker out into a reactive load, then go from the line outs of each into a flat power amp (high wattagr class D), then you can hook it up in as many ways as you like. A/B switch, line mixer, volume pedal and so on.

If you're looking to switch between heads on the fly, the Switchbone will not do what you want. It's just an A/B box and will not handle the speaker output switching that you will need.

Headbone is the unit from Radial that you want.

Mesa also makes the Head Track that will allow you to share a single effects loop in addition to the single speaker cabinet.

Marty is playing out of a Fender Deluxe & Kenny always plays a Princeton yet they play stadiums and get a huge sound cuz they PLAY guitar and TURN IT UP.
This coming from a guy that loves 100 wayy Marshalls and always will.
Unless you're playing 2 amps in stereo its ridiculas to try to stuff 2 heads into one cab.
But by all means be my guest.

Welp, not trying play them both at the same time, just trying to save some time switching cables when I wanna play the head thats not connected to the cab.

the radial headbone is exactly what you want, it just isnt cheap. radial makes great stuff though

It is exactly what Im talking about but for the same money I could get the 1x12 or for lil less the 1x10 the goes w th H&K head

If the two amps have the same speaker impedance requirement, and you don't need anything fancy (to alter impedance, ground lift, select loops, etc.), just an AB switch will work.

I have a Radial switcher (I think it's the Twin-City) on one of my pedal boards which works great, but yes they are expensive. And I also have a cheap passive ABY switch on my other pedal board which works great. For what you want to do (just switching the two amps' speaker outputs to the same speaker cab), all you really need is something like this...

That is pretty much what I want, minus an effects loop which isnt a must, I can live with that issue. Thank you sir.

Apparently this can do it too

No idea how it doesn’t blow a tube head though.
