2 SONGS: Rock & Melodic Death Metal!!!

Hey everyone! Well I finally got around & recorded some songs!

The first one is a melodic black/death metal type thing. No vocals yet, so some of you other guys will be able to bear it! Please give it a listen anyway & tell me what you think of the solo!

The other one is a classic hard rock type song. Yes yes, generic as, but that's the way I like it!

All guitars & bass done by me. I used a Jackson kelly into a Boss GT-8 into the PC. Bass was done with an Ibanez Ergodyne EDC 700 into the GT-8. The drums were done by my friend Tim Yatras* on his Roland V-Drums electronic kit.

It was also an excuse for me to build a webpage to host the files on, so HERE'S THE LINK!
Enjoy, and I would like as much feedback as possible!!! On tone, mixing etc.

*If any of you metal heads have heard of a powermetal band from Australia called Dungeon he is drumming for them! So I was lucky to con him into doing this haha!

I officially give it the headbang seal of approval:

:headbang:

damn that rock song was real catchy

Only listened to the DM one...

The mix leaves much to be desired, but the overall song is pretty good. It's a bit repetitive at times; I think you could shorten the repeats on some riffs and cut the song to about 4 mins, and it'd be perfect.

DSS: I left the space for some vocals that I wanna put in there soon. I think the guitars were a bit bass heavy to begin with, so they kinda just turned mushy in the mix! Is that what you were hearing? Ah well there's something to keep in mind for next time.

Thanks for the comments!

My mix comment was about alot of things. The drums don't seem to be mixed at all; the kick is barely audible at points. Also, you need to pan the guitars 100% left/right, and quad track!

Thanks for the tips man, I heard some clips of yours that were quad tracked & they sounded sweet!
