2 Steps to Ibanez RG Heaven/Inspiration

Just wanted to share with you a very cool development.
We all work hard to find the right sounds here ,and I wanted to share the best I have achieved
to date after many experiments .

Step 1)put a DMZ air norton in the neck of the RG and wired it in parallel
Set the pup a little lower than usual
result= glassy stratlike blues and cleans -just an awesome sound

Step 2)did Roadstar's tone zone mod for the bridge

This guy's a genius .I am grateful to him for this nugget of wisdom
I was almost ready to swap out the tone zone ,because of the
overbearing nature of the sound .
(This mod is way better than the parallel sound )

It kept most of the balls of the original tonezone and yes....
removed bass and added clarity .
The number one complaint with the tone zone ..
Sustain is great, tone is outstanding, clarity is great -sacrificed the crazy harmonics for this ,but this is not a big deal to me because the harmonics are still excellent -just not as prevalent every time you pick a note-they sound more natural to me now..

Do steps one and two above and you can turn a cheap axe into a godly instrument of rock and roll ...
At least in my opinion .

I am now finally inspired to play every time I pick up the guitar to play clean or overdrive -I'm loving it ...

Best of luck,

Cool.... glad it's all working out for you. Isn't it more fun when tonal goals are reached via unconventional measures? :)

Yes it is most definitely more satisfying than buying the solution from a store -not that there's anything wrong with that .However -I'm not going to lie though ,
the tone zone mod had me scared at first, but I was careful
and it worked out fine ..
