You can, but you won’t have all the combinations. You will be switching to single coil and series at the same time. That’s two settings and not four.

Why not use push/pull pots?

I don't have push/pull pots
So..what are the possible combinations?
And..how do I wire it??
Thanks :D

I suggest you buy sone.

If you are using a single switch then your only option is the same as both of those switches switched at the same time. There are no combinations.

Yeah..I mean..how do I combine the wiring from those switches to 1 4DPDT?
How is the wiring?
Thanks :D

Yes you can. A 4PDT looks like two of those switches stuck together.

Just wire it like two switches. But I doubt you will want that. You will lose the regular split coil tone.

Re: 2 x DPDT = 4PDT??

The thing to be careful about is the "on-on-on" part. Most DPDT switches are on-on or on-off-on. "On-on-on" DPDT's are fairly expensive. So, 4PDT on-on-on switch is the same as two DPDT on-on-on switches.

Oh I see..So..how do I wire it from 2 on-on DPDTs to 1 on-on-on 4PDT?
Can you give me graphics?
I'm really blind here
Thanks

They are marked on-on. Not on-on-on

Re: 2 x DPDT = 4PDT??

"On-on-on" has a unique contact configuration. Two on-on's can never be one 4PDT on-on-on.

Re: 2 x DPDT = 4PDT??

Ok. Then a 4PDT on-on will work just like two DPDT on-on's, but without independent control of each switch.

On a side note, they're are 4PDT on-on-on switches, but they're expensive and hard to find. NKK Switches makes one, part #M2044.

Note, they call it a DP3T switch, but that's after you add jumpers. If you don't add the jumpers, it's a 4PDT on-on-on.

Just want to make sure you understand this:

You can wire it just like you'd wire those DPDT's. Just wire the lugs in a same way.

4PDT wired as 2x DPDT does not work in a same way in practice though. You won't have the combinations, just two settings. I don't think that's what you're trying to achieve here.

But if I'm wrong, you probably need to give bit more information what you're trying to do.

Re: 2 x DPDT = 4PDT??

You won’t get those combinations. You will have to decide what you want the switch to do. It Can either be wired to do both at once, or wired to either coil tap or series/parallel, and at that point it’s pointless to use a switch with a higher pole or throw count.

Re: 2 x DPDT = 4PDT??

Guys..I get it
I just want to use my on-on-on 4pdt on my guitar
How is the wiring?
Let's say series/parallel + coil tap
Thanks

You're looking this at the wrong way...

If you want a coil tap, wire it as the coil tap switch there. If you want series/parallel switch, wire it as series/parallel switch there. Leaving extra poles unconnected.

If you want both in three different combinations of those, it can do that nicely. You just need to tell exactly what combinations. There's plenty of ways to wire that switch.

sorry...yeah I want series/parallel + coil tap wiring in 3 different combinations
Please show me the diagram
Thanks

To do series/parallel/split, you must use an on-on-on switch. Wire both sides like this:

This link might work better:
