2002 Gibson Les Paul Special

DankStar

Her Little Mojo Minion
For sale is my Gibson Les Paul Special, made in the Nashville, TN plant in 2002.

I got it in 2012 and have babied since then - kept in hardshell case, had it professionally set up, and had a tech replace a faulty pickup selector.

I played it now and then, thinking the set-up would make me gel with it a bit more, but it never really became one of my main players. It was my first Gibson ever and I almost chose to keep it, but alas we must part ways. Better get it now before I change my mind again, lol!

$480 shipped - payment via gift w/PayPal.

Feaures:
* 490R neck pickup and a 498T bridge pickup
* Contoured back for greater comfort
* Mahogany 1960s style slim-tapered set neck
* Rosewood fingerboard
* Mahogany body
* Chrome hardware
* Tune-O-Matic bridge
* Stopbar tailpiece
* 2 volume and 2 tone controls with 3-way switch

Comes with a non-Gibson hardshell case and will ship in an official Gibson cardboard box with appropriate packing materials.

There are a few minor scuffs and dings here and there, but nothing I'd call major. The most noticeable (to me) is a shallow scratch over the Gibson logo. The area below the strings and the back of the neck are a bit "shiny" from use, which is typical of this line. Some I've seen have had areas worn right through the paint, but mine doesn't have that going on.

Re: 2002 Gibson Les Paul Special

One of the best-feeling guitars I've ever played. I can't explain it, but something about that finish just feels good. Not your average satin finish.

I can not afford it, I can not afford it, I can not afford it....

Damn!

Best sale of the year..... I cant believe this is still here. I cant personally jive with the LP shape, or I'd have sold some crap off and bought this already!

"world's okayest guitarist"

LOL, I don't know that I can wear that crown with a straight face? It's okay though, this guitar will make me a much better guitarist!!! Everyone knows that technique is only about 5% of it, the other 95% comes from how nice your guitar is & how much money you spent on it...

Haha - I just like that shirt that has that on it. You'll
Dig the axe - I just hope the climate change doesn't affect it much, going all the way across the country and all.

Re: 2002 Gibson Les Paul Special

This time of year it shouldn't? A few months from now I'd be much more worried but its been dry and in the high 80's or low 90's here for the past week or two. I know it's a bit warmer and most likely a lot dryer where you are but the change shouldn't be too dramatic? Plus with it being a 02 it should be pretty darn dry by now so any changes should be minimal?

I've bought several new & used guitars from So-Cal, NM, AZ, & I've never had any real issues. We'll see how it fairs after its first NH winter though. If something is going to go wrong & give it would be then!!! It goes from 75* & dry to 55* and humid every time someone opens the door and walks through it....

Re: 2002 Gibson Les Paul Special

Any chance this guitar is till for sale?

Dude I bought this guitar years ago & unfortunately I’ve since sold it.

I do have another H/H special for sale however it’s gloss cherry, a 2016 so newer, I can offer several different options as far as pickups go, & it’s undoubtedly a lot nicer with a beautiful cream bound neck & wrapped frets!!!

Not that this was a bad one....

You can PM me if you think that’s something that you’d be interested in?
