Do 24 frets on a Les Paul (24 3/4) scale guitar greatly effect the neck pick up, and how so?

YES. i have an esp ltd MV-200 that is set up the same way. the neck pickup is about where a middle pickup would be located on a strat style guitar. the result is the sound out of the neck is not as full on the bottom.

I think that getting the neck pup out of the traditional place (on the 24 fret harmonic) adds a lot of clarity. I have never thought of the neck pups on 22 fret guitars as warm but as muddy. That's why I like the placement on my Godin. I also like it on my buddies SL2H and the 24 fret PRS' which is a 25 in scale.
