3 Humbucker, 3 tone, 3 volume Strat?

Re: 3 Humbucker, 3 tone, 3 volume Strat?

I'd keep it simple and go master volume, master tone and a blender pot to add the neck & bridge pickups together. Keep it simple. Lew

Heh, I'm pretty sure the last half a dozen of your posts I've seen Lew have been along the lines of:
"Keep it simple, use a blender pot" :)

Well...that's true. I owned a Fender Jaguar with way, way to many switches as my first good good guitar. That would've been about 1964 or 65. I learned my lesson. Simpler is usually better.

To many knobs just makes life confusing and by the time you get your guitar tone for a part dialed in, that part of the song is over and you have to start all over again. :smack:

I like guitars that do alot with as few switches and knobs as possible.

Guess that's why I like Strats and Teles.

I would agree with lews Idea of a master tone/master volume/blender pot. That would work great. Or another good idea if you are feeling a little more adventurous would be a Master volume/Master tone/midboost and either the volume or the tone would be a push pull pot that would activate either the bridge or neck pickup so there for you would have seven way switcing and also a mid boost built in. I would opt for the first option though if you are fairly new with guitar electronics. Simpler will be better.

I like more bells and whistles on my guitars. Would this work or will I encounter problems with 3 output wires from the volume pots going to the output jack?

Re: 3 Humbucker, 3 tone, 3 volume Strat?

From my limited experience, the wiring you are considering will work, no problem.
And you will have plenty of tonal variations.

yep, that'll work ... good luck with it and let us know how it comes out ... imagine how much fun you could have if you drill holes for 3 mini toggles to get split/internal series/internal parallel :D
have fun,
