3 Humbucker Wiring Idea! Too ambitious?

I recently saw a wiring model for a Les Paul with 3 humbuckers that used a push-pull pot to activate and deactivate the middle pickup. Seeing as I have a 3-humbucker Strat laying around here (my favorite guitar), I was wondering if I could do something similar to my current Stratocaster. With a volume, 2 tones, and a 5 way switch as opposed to Les Paul-like controls.

For example, with the middle pickup activated I get the actual pickup on position 3. When it's not activated I get a Bridge/Neck in between sound. Would this be possible? And, what would happen to positions 2 and 4?

A better idea probably would be to have an on/off switch for the middle pickup and your standard Stratocaster 1 vol/2 tone setup and a push/pull pot to split the coils for even more versatility...

Too ambitious, no?

I have wired a few of my guitars like this, I have wired a push pull pot to activate the bridge pickup. In position 4 I have all three singles when I pull the pot and when I am position 5 I have the neck and the bridge when I pull the pot. It is a very easy mod and I like the sounds out of it especially the neck and the bridge togeather. I like 7 position switching in a strat.
