i'm planning to get a 3-pickup nashville tele and i want to put the hot stack in the middle position so that i can get my normal tele sounds in positions 1, 3, and 5, but i can also have access to high-output tones in positions 2 and 4. do you guys think this would work?

Re: 3 pickup Telecaster, stk-s2 hot stack

you'd definitely need a superswitch of some sort to pull that off, but i'm sure it could be done.

AZN - let me tell you about my Ray Benson Tele (former)

Neck - PG
Middle - Hot Rails
Bridge - Tele

5 way blade with push/pull split on tone pot for Hot Rails

Sounds:
1 Neck HB
2 Neck HB + Hot rails (heavy rock/blues neck sound!). With split on HB & Hot rail, strat cluck
3 Middle Hrails - Heavy rock/metal middle, with split, strat middle sound
4 Middle plus tele - Tele with BALLS! with split strat/tele combo cluck
5 Tele - classic telle sound

very nice, but i notice that you don't have a position that has both the neck and the bridge, like a normal tele. you're fine without it? and i was hoping to put in a no-load tone control, but having a push-pull pot would mean that i can't right?

and i'd have a normal single-coil in the neck, not a humbucker

I'm an LP guy, so I'm totally ok not even having the guitar anymore, let alone no neck/bridge combo.

single in the neck would take away one sound, but make for easier wiring

Not sure about the no-load push pull. There could be a way to do that.
