Hi all,

Do you have the wiring diagram for this pickup configuration ?

- Humbucker - Single Coil - Humbucker
- 3-Way Switch (Full Neck - Full Middle - Full Bridge)
- 1 Volume, 2 Tone (Strat' configuration)

I know 5 ways are better but I'm making a Dave Murray Strat' Signature

Thanks a lot for your help !

Re: 3-Way Switch // Hum-Single-Hum Configuration

Basically, you want a diagram for wiring one humbucker to be in series, coil cut or parallel?

Re: 3-Way Switch // Hum-Single-Hum Configuration

Okay, now that I've reread your question is this what you want?

a 3 pickup guitar humbucker / single / humbucker and you just want a 3 way switch to connect to each one?

Re: 3-Way Switch // Hum-Single-Hum Configuration

the 3 way looks just like the five way
but only functions differently

wire it exactly like this

you'll probably want 500k pots and a .022 cap also
but its a preference thing

Yes, it is this configuration :) Do you have the diagram ?

--> To ehdwuld :

So, you mean that the connectors are the same on the 3 way and the 5 way :scratchch I didn't know that. For the Dave Murray, I'll need 250kohms pots

I'll test this diagram !

Thanks to you all.

Ah,

I didn't received my pickups yet (there are DiMarzio SuperDistortion and PAF from the early 70's). I think I've leard somewhere that these old humbuckers only have 2 wires besides 4. Do you think it's possible ? Does it change something to this diagram (I mean, on this diagram, red and white wires are taped together. Maybe on the oldest, they doesn't exist).

Hope you understand my poor english ;)

Four conductor wiring is great to have if you want to do the fancy stuff such as parallel wiring, coil split, out of phase etc.
For the kind of setup that you want, 2 conductor pickups will be just fine.

+1
just ignore the coil connection ( red/white )
and if your dimarzio's have 4 wires just connect the black/white pair
and use red for hot
