36th Anniversary Neck in Strat plays JSBach

Here's my first recording (that I'm satisfied) since I dedicated most of my playing time to classical pieces.

Thanks to Paul Gilbert for leading in this direction

This one is played with a clean, lush reverb/delay sound.

(I will post more with both a Crunch and Saturated tone.)

please enjoy-

WOW- 98 views between this forum (plus "Clips and Tips") and Dimarzio's forum and not one comment!

Are guitar players THAT uninterested in electric guitar playing Classical music with a clean tone, or does my playing suck that much? :)

Amazing how open sounding that neck pickup is. I really liked it - the song and tone, and your playing.

you are picking too hard. Relax and let the notes flow in a more legato style.

That was my first reaction also. Almost sounds like the action is too low, like the strings are slapping against the frets. Other than that, nice piece.

I really love how the 36th responds to accenting. It has that fat swell.

Nice track ! The DM is far to sound "P.A.F. authentic" to my old ears but the tools used are always negligible when the music is good. :-)

Good constructive criticism (although someone else liked it).
I have to admit that I was picking kind of heavy because I was really fired up by the woody tones I was getting.

I actually decided to go for less of a processed clean tone (more of a clean "blues' tone) and also a quite saturated tone (a little like Paul Gilbert's tone when he plays Gique from Partita in Dm.) for my upcoming pieces.

It's a *uck of a lot of fun to rip on those pieces.

Yeah, I hear that often (about DMZ's Pafs not sounding so paf-ish).
But it's not important to me- I just love the quality of their lowish output pick-ups (low by DMZ's standpoint).
It's too bad they have to use the "PAF" phrase on so many of their pick-ups. I like when they name their p'ups like "FRED", "Norton" and "Crunch Lab". Those are more creative names.
