4 wire mini humbucker

Need help/advice please.
O.K. I am watching and searching Ebay and I come across a mini humbucker for a Firebird; it has the correct Pat# and appears to be the real deal. I check it over to the best of my ability.
Now the problem....this thing has 4 wires like a split humbucker???
I have never seen one of these before and in my mind I question its authenticity? Regardless of my doubts this thing goes off for over $170.00

QUESTION: is this thing for real?
It appears to be a legitamate Gibson product, is it?
What did it come on?
What year?
What model?
If I see another (highly unlikely) do I break myself to get it.
All opinions appreciated.
All in put werlcome.

what year was it supposed to be and why was it $170?

most older gibson stuff is all 2 cond

My inquiry was similiarly worded to my post here. Just trying to gather info?
After its all said and done I did'nt know anymore after their Email than I did before.
The Pat# on the back of the Mini was Pat#2737842
I have used these before and love em.......just never heard of a 4 wire?

This seems ambiguous? Or they did'nt really know?

Hi, the mini humbucker was used in several models throughout the 90's. The most common being the Firebird, but also, the SG Deluxe, the Night Hawk, ect...

ok so its not a vintage model at all. totally no worth that kind of money.

I would expect a vintage Gibson Firebird mini 'bucker to come with single conductor + braided shield cable. Four con is something that Gibson only tends to offer on aftermarket pickups.

The one example when a Gibson Firebird mini 'bucker would need four con + shield cable is on the Nighthawk model.

EDIT: Just trying to remember whether the Nighthawk neck position mini-HB was to correct Firebird specs or whether it was just something that happened to look like a Firebird mini-HB? :scratchch
