The day I can finally see how well my first enamel refinishing project ended up. So far both of the colors applied look good separately, but tommorow when I remove the tape we shall she how they look together.

Enamel is an odd material to work with, it sure doesn't take to kindly to sanding. I chose it because they say it is fairly fragile until it cures and it takes almost a year to cure, but when it does, it is pretty tough. That way I can relic it the old fashioned way, but at an expedited speed.

Here are pictures of before, after the first coat, and after the second coat. Tommorow I'll post the reveal.

Re: 425

Ouch. Shoulda done the seal-the-tape trick I talked about in that other thread a few weeks back.

Very uneven surface too.

Oh well. You live, you learn. Gotta practice on something. It still looks cool in a grungy sort of "slapped together in the garage" sort of way, though.

That's what I was going for, which is also why I didn't bother measuring out the lines or making sure they were parallel. I was going for the "not quite early EVH" look. I'm going to do some relicing on it, find some way to add red paint without looking like an obvious EVH copy, and then relic it some more.
