I have a guitar with Hum sing HUm. How do I make the 2nd and 4th positions split the neck and bridge hums? I noticed there are quite a few lugs not used on the switch.

I need help now! My switch doe snot look like the schematic. Mine also has five lugs but mine are in a row, while the schematic shows them stagered on each side. I tride pretending the schem did that to keep it from cluttering and wired how it showed but i cannot get it to work. pLease help!

P.S. In the 1st lug i have the bridge pup, 2nd lug mid, 3rd lug neck, 4th hot for switch

reckless i have the same switch as you, 8 lugs in a row...if u find out how to do it tell me please

Hopefully I find out. I tried messing with the order of the wires and nothing.

i asked this same thing over in pickup lounge.....i use a jb and 59 so mine may be a bit harder, hopefully someone will know

if only i could figure it out using only 1 lead for the 59,
i think i could swap the 59 and mid pickup on the 5-way, that would make 1-mid, 2-neck/mid, 3-neck, 4-neck/bridge, 5 - bridge? ???

i think i got it to work,
on the 5 way, swap the mid and neck
pos 1 = middle
pos 2 = (same as before) mid and neck
pos 3= neck
pos 4 = neck and bridge *****
pos 5 = bridge
this may work, i have it setup, seems to work. anyone? is it bad?

I want the 2nd position to split the neck only and 4th to split the bridge only. THis wiring splits the hums but uses the middle single coil with it. I want the hums by themselves.wasteofo2 said:

yea, my idea didnt work at all, just tried it out, dont bother, 3, 4 and 5 all split bridge and neck, o well, someones gotta know, wheres artie?

Heh - actually, we started our vacation yesterday, so my wife would like my undivided attention.
I'll see what I can come up with here, (sounds simple enough), but I can only "fiddle" with it in spurts. I might be able to post something tomorrow.
If not, then soon.

I was thinking if there is no way to do it how does this sound:
Push pull volume pot. Them if it is in split mode the 1st and 5th positions would be split bucker and whatever in 2, 3, and 4/ In full mode it does what the 5 way does now. Will this work? If so I will have about 9 differernt variations, maybe more.
