500k Or 250k Pots For Fender/San Dimas Hybrid???

View attachment 64158
If this picture is flipped I apologize, my tablet does strange things to them??? Anyway, I bought a Strat about a week ago with the intention of modding it into a H/S San Dimas kind of thing? As you can see above the results were actually pretty good but I used some pickups that I had laying around to make it, both pickups are very "Vintage", the humbucker reads 8.7k & the single is reading 6.4k.? When I first put it all together I used one 500k pot and holy freaking bright!!! So I changed it to a 250k & now it's a really good sounding guitar, especially for clean & light dirty stuff! The only real problems I have with it are, one, it's not real great for Crazy High Gain stuff, & two, I've got the exact same humbucker and a couple of APS-1's in another "Vintage dedicated Strat", basically my take on a reissued 78 Super Strat? So anyhow, I pretty much ended up with a very nice looking clone of a guitar that I already have but that's missing the middle single coil?

I decided I needed hotter pickups, I moved some pups around in some other guitars and ended up with a JB? So I was going to use it & just change just the humbucker then keep running it off the 250k pot? After thinking about it for a while I figured if I'm going to do a Fender/Charvel hybrid I might as well do it right so I went ahead & bought a Custom Stack to go in the neck?

I'm getting sick of taking this thing apart so I want to get this right on the first try! What size pot should I use? I have the 250k, that's in there now, the 500k, that still has all the wires left on it from the other day, & I've also got some 300k's kicking around someplace too? Whatever I use it will be pretty simple to put together, I just don't want to have to take it apart 3 times to see which value potentiometer works better?
