Yes...I saw that too....Because Eddie and Peavey broke their ties....I'm not a fan of the 5150,but the prices are right..

WOW! My friend is looking at buying one of these and we live in australia...would you guys have any gripes about getting one shipped to australia or do you think that should be fine. Cos thats an awesome price!

II is biased warmer and has a better clean channel, but the gain channel has more highs and less lows, not a good thing IMO. If a 5150 needs anything, its more low's and a tad less crunch.

the II also has seperate EQ for each channel, as opposed to the I's shared EQ section.

I think its pretty much well-known though that the 5150 I sounds better than the II. The 3rd channel is nice though. Voodoo Amps mods on the 5150 II, they immediately wire it down to the the 5150 specs before the mod. that pretty much says it all really. I had mine modded and it still doesn't touch my Splawn. I sold my II and retired my 5150 I.

I bought a 5150 II earlier this year for $775 plus shipping off ebay. If I had only known this was going to happen... :smack:

Thats still an excellent deal stratTom yo should have no regrets. I've always felt that the 5150 series was the best amp going for under $1000, at least for rock/Metal styles.
