59/Custom and ?

I've installed my new 59/Custom and it does sound good. Paired with my neck Fugly I'm not so sure. The Fugly seems louder although it's 8.47K and the 59/Custom is 12.15K. I may be the Fugly isn't louder but seems to be because of more bottom end output. I think a N to match the 59/Custom would be better, or move it to the neck and use a higher output for the bridge. These are in my C1+ in my avatar. I've tried it through a Blues Jr., a Bassman 70 & Marshall 4x10, and a SoCal 50 & Marshall 4x12. Both are great sounding pickups but not a good combo. Opinions? Suggestions?

A 59/Jazz sounds interesting. What about a 59/Pearly? Who's the member that tried these hybrids to begin with?

My best neck hybrids have been combining coils from neck and bridge PAF's. There's enough difference to give some of the unbalanced sound (mix of HB and single coil). For me, there's not enough of a difference between most neck PU's to make hybrids from two of their coils.

Re: 59/Custom and ?

Well after a few knob tweaks on the amps and playing all weekend, I'm really starting to like this combo. They both react well to the volume knob on the guitar and with moderate crunch just flipping the switch to the neck cleans up pretty well. Now if we get a neck version I'll gladly try it but I'm not going to swap until the forum pickup is ready. Bluemann335 when you say combine a B coil and a N coil, do you mean both from say 59's for instance?
