'59 pole spacing narrow compared to most Humbuckers?

Does anyone know if a '59 TB would have the same pole spacing as Gibson and most other humbuckers. Have a mahogany with maple cap Tele and Love the '59 sound but it is narrower than the Gibson 490 in the neck and may loose a little output.

Its a modern myth that you are loosing volume with a slightly different spacing. But due its different coil size a TB59 sound different from a standard sized one.

Thanks for the input. Its just that with the '59 both E strings are sitting above the outer edge of the poles instead of directly over like my other pickups do, although I can't say I notice any weakness in those strings, which I could always raise the poles to make up for it anyway.

Duncan and Gibson PAFs have the same polepiece spacing; the 490R and non-TB 59 are the same spread. The 490T has the wider pole spacing for the bridge position.

Newer Gibson humbucker pairs have wider pole spacing for the bridge, older didn't. Pretty much all other humbuckers have roughly the same, but not same enough to freely interachange covers (annoying).

I haven't tested it, but the change in the magnetic field, from wider spacing between the polepieces, will certainly make a difference in how the whole thing behaves. But that's just the thing, the wider string spacing isolates the strings more, they don't mess with each other's polepieces as much anymore.

I've noticed that the spacing on my demon pickup is narrower than I expected: I thought that the distance between centers of the outer pole pieces should be 2.00". Mine measure closer to 1.90". 2.00" would have been dead-on for my LP. I don't notice any problem with sound, just looks a little funky.

That's why Gibson now make the bridge pickups wider.
