Among pole-pieces, height, and the controls...have never had a 59 with this issue (I've got them in five guitars currently). But then again...I also never got the "scooped mids" thing either...I think that the mids are prominent and killer on these PUPs and it's why I like them. R. Ford and TT-era Henderson used to use them, as does Herring (in his Strats) and all are known for that mid-rich tone. Could be I'm misinterpreting something, but Scott said the same thing, and he knows a bit more than I do.
