Let me tell you that a 59 and a Seth are NOT THE SAME THING.
A Seth with an A5 does not sound like a 59,
and a 59 with an A2 does not in any way sound like a Seth. The 59 is often noted for it's spiky tendencies in the mids and highs, so I figured I'd try an A2 in it. It still has some kind of an attitude going on in the mids but it's definitely less aggressively pronounced. It's also still a lot brighter than most A2 pickups I've tried, APH and Seth included. But it's also more powerful, and it still handles hard rock and metal riffs like the 59 would but with a bit more tastiness and dynamics. Just basically a less "stiff" pickup all around but with all the aspects that I liked about the 59 in the first place.
woot!
