60 Cyl. Hum with a Jb Jr

I put a JB Jr in my son's VG Strat. Basically it's an Am. Std. Strat with an extra roland pup.

It's really neat because the Roland circuit is completely separate from the passive pups and I can do whatever I want with them and not screw up the Roland pup.

It's been so long that I can't remember.........but can I get full hum cancelling with a JB Jr in the bridge position and a standard single Fender pup in the middle when the 2 are combined in position 2?

When I put it in I revesred the wiring cos it's a fender guitar. Turned out that that was out of phase in this guitar:lmao:

So I swapped them and now I have the 60 cycle hum in position 2 (but at least it's in phase now:headbang:)

Next I figured I could get hum cancelling in this switch position if I used the red/white and taped off the green and black. I could not get hum cancelling in with the red grounded or the white. Made no difference either way:sad:

So I'm wanting to know, is there full hum cancelling given the fact that each coil in the JB Jr doesn't have the same amount of windings as the single I'm trying to get the hum cancelled on?

Hope that makes sense - lol

If you set the switch to split the JB Jr in the "2" position then as long as you split the right coil it should be hum-cancelling

I hadn't thought of that.

Just to be sure - I just attach the paired wires to the switch point that I want it tapped at - right? It already has a 4-pole switch in it
