60s style Strat neck pup recommendation

Hi all,

Need suggestions for a vintage style Strat neck pup to go with a 56 CS Relic strat middle pup and an Eric Johnson Bridge pup. My Strat is an 80s Jap Fender, built the 50s style with a maple neck board.

The sound I want is the 60s Strat sound which should be on the overwounded side (6-ish) with a great tone. I'm mainly a blues, classic rock player. The sound I have in mind is Rory Gallagher and early David Gilmour.

I have the Surfer neck in mind but find it pricey. Thus I'm open to other alternatives. Thanks.

It is my understanding that the SSL-1 is the Surfer's non-Custom Shop sibling. Another pickup to look at is the Fender CS 57/62. I've used them in my strats and they're great. :burnout:
