hmmm dpending on what these new amps sound like i may just have to have one! They kind of look augly but if they have the 6505 tone in a smaller package i'm game

Re: 6505 1x12...

That's a size I'd like for these. I like the tones of the 6505 for heavier stuff but I sure as heck don't need 100 watts nor a 4x12 right now.

Re: 6505 1x12...

Looks good to me. I used to have a 5150 in the 90's that I sometimes wish I still had. That was a killer amp. The Plus version I'm not the biggest fan of but I'm curious about this combo. The 2x12 is like a boat anchor. Let's hope they worked on the weight with this guy.

Re: 6505 1x12...

I wonder how must it'll cost? List price looks under $800, I wonder if that's a typo

Re: 6505 1x12...

6505s are pure, god**** awesome metal tones in a box, the 5150/6505 sound is practicall almost an industry standard in metal. I'd definitely hit it.

Re: 6505 1x12...

If it was USA made like the others then maybe I would blink at it, but if is chinese, then why not just get a used 5150 for the same price or get a Bugera... I try and avoid the chinese made stuff... gotta support our country!

Please turn off your computer, unplug it and return it to where you bought it. Tell them you want a USA made computer. Good luck......LOL.

Totally tongue-in-cheek. :D

As long as it's built well, place of manufacture doesn't totally bother me. Yes, a lot of MIC stuff gets a bad rap but there's plenty out there that is made really good.

Re: 6505 1x12...

for pics, Peavey has a pic on their website under the news link
and there are some good closeup NAMM pics out there

my favorite thing? the little mini-chickenheads

Re: 6505 1x12...

Good lord that is hideous.

I speculate that Hartley Peavey himself must be behind the majority of their designs. There's no way Peavey stuff would be so consistently ugly if there was anyone involved with some real design qualifications.

Re: 6505 1x12...

will look cool sitting next to it's big brother, which looks just like it

Re: 6505 1x12...

i bet this new 1x12 combo 6505plus will be quite heavy still.... but we will see... i've been using the old 5150 head thru a 1x12 for years now... getting a combo version all in one deal should be great for me.... can't wait for them to come into stock near me...

Re: 6505 1x12...

i have an original 5150 too... nice heads!!!!

that's not mine though. It's a google image search result -- probably somebody's avatar -- that represents what I have :18: and what I want
