Wrote a song for a friend's band over the weekend and threw down a quick acoustic demo for them. I think it's the first time I ever recorded my old Guild, it is such a wonderful guitar.

Cool thing with the tune for SDF'ers is I used a riff from the 1st Riff-Off thing we did a while back.

Vox and gtr into (1) mic with a 2nd gtr track occasionally popping in on the right.

Studio Projects C1> Joe Meek ThreeQ> Tascam 2488 dumped into WaveLab on my laptop.

Thanks! Yeah there is a little "Hook" riffin going on there. Fits them to a tee.

That was one of my favorite riffs from any round of the riff-offs. Love that it made it into a cool song!

That Guild really does sound fantastic,too. Rootsy and warm.

Is it just me or does this sound alot like Jim Croce. Cross between Bad Bad Leroy Brown and Speedball Tucker. THis is not a bad thing as I loved JIm's music.

Holy crap I love Jim Croce and I have never ever had anyone say they heard his influence, that is too cool. I know the influence is there but I rarely ever do anything acoustically and if I play that electrically it comes off more like Aerosmith I guess. I grew up on his 45's.

The Guild really is a killer, I had forgotten completely since it was tucked away for a while. Gearjonesers thread a while back about playing your least played guitar got me to dig it out and it hasn't been away since.
