70's reissue Stratocaster makeover....

Hey forum bro's.... just wanted to tell everyone that i took my 70's RI Strat and gave it a late 70's all black makeover. This thing looks alot better, IMO. Its the natural ash with a maple neck, and honestly, looked kinda plain with the factory white plastic parts. But now with it all outfitted in black, it looks alot more "70s". I already had a set of 70's style die cast bridge saddles installed earlier this year, so now its had a complete 70's cosmetic overhaul.

Will try to post some new pics of this thing whenever i figure out what the wife did with our camera.

Oh yeah, that looks sweet. To me, black looks better with natural finishes. Now it just needs creme appointments (knobs, pickup covers, switch tip). :D

Yeah looks alot more 70's this way.

Never really like the white knobs, covers on black tho.....

Loving the blackness! Sorta balances out the overall guitar now IMO, seeing how the body and neck are natural and light in colour, very cool.

Yes sir. Turns out i have to stop and get a new high E string today though. I guess i didn't cut it long enough to allow enough winds around the tuner, and it ended up popping off last night :smack: I hate putting on new strings... they never feel right to me when their new and it takes them too long to feel "broke in".

It's kind of funny, I took a Lite Ash Strat and took off all of the black parts and swapped them for white. :)

Not white.......creme or cream (however you want to spell it....lol).

I had tossed the idea of going all black with my frankenstrat but after putting the cream appointments on and seeing how it worked with the finish, I couldn't come to changing it.

call me crazy but i like it better before. i like how you have the same colored pickup covers, switch and knobs with the pickguard.

Re: 70's reissue Stratocaster makeover....

yeah i'm diggin the look of this thing more every time i look at it. I always wanted a Fender from the 70's... so when i got this reissue with its all to common white parts, it never really gave off that 70's vibe all that much... but with the help of some die cast saddles and this all black motif..... the vibe is much alive!!
