I'm cleaning out a bunch of old stuff to fund some new humbuckers. I have the stock pickups from my MIJ ~1985 Squire strat, are they worth anything?

Gonna post them, a bridge hot rails and a full set of everything axe pickups.

There are so many Squier pickups/series made, that ambiguity itself lends toward value uncertainty - even once you’ve figured out what precise model you’ve got. Some are junk, some are fine. Some are cheap ceramic, some are cheap Alnico, others are actually good etc. If you have pics or know the precise model that helps.

Probably most valuable as a paperweight........unless you hit the jackpot and find someone desperate to return an 80's Squier to original.

You will sell them, I think. Probably not for a lot, but I'm sure there is someone out there would like to restore their '85 Squier Strat. They were actually pretty nice guitars, and not all that common to find unmodded.

Actually, I have an '85 MIJ '50s reissue Strat (my first guitar), and I've never had the original pickups, nor have I ever known whether it was originally a Squier or a Fender. The original owner had stripped and oiled the neck, and installed a vintage-correct Fender decal by the time I got it. That said, I have no real desire to find out, or to restore it to stock.

That's what I was thinking. I've got one set of Squier pups that I'd be embarrassed to ask $20 for the set. I have two others with Duncan Designed Hotrails and Lipstick Tubes respectively. They'd be worth more. (But I love them enough that they aren't for sale.) ;)
