85 vs Blackout neck in bridge position

Atm I have got a 85 in the bridge and think of buying a Blackout neck and put the 85 in the neck!?
Guitar is a Ibanez RG 550 (basswood body, rosewood fingerboard) with blocked trem, drop C tuning!
If I don't like the blackout in the bridge i can put it in the neck and the 85 in the bridge...

Just wanted to know what you think

put the 85 in the neck... sounds cool so far
and I just ordered the neck version of the blackouts!

You should be satisfied. Between the 85 and the Blackout you can swap them around until you find the best orientation.

I used the Blackout Neck pickup in the bridge position of an Alexi ESP for a demo video recently and I was pretty impressed. If I ever put a Blackout guitar together for myself, it will probably be the neck and bridge set, in the standard setup. But I can see why some guys like the Blackout Neck in the bridge.

I always thought the 81 was too cold and sterile for the bridge, so if I had to use EMG's I'd probably use the 85 in the bridge and the 81 in the neck. But the Blackouts have cured so much of that lifelessness that so far I prefer the Blackouts in the normal N/B setup.

+1 even though I no longer use blackouts anymore. I went straight back to the passives..I just miss them oh so much.

maybe i'll end with the 85 in the bridge.
hm I'm more an A5 guy so I guessed the neck version would be cooler...

So I put the blackout neck in the Bridge and the 85 in the neck! Awesome setup... the blackout sounds fat but not as compressed and sterile as the emg used to. It got the benefits of an active like clarity and tightness without beeing too sterile.

Maybe I'll swap them some day.
