I prefer diesel powered.
Is there really any difference between carbon vs alkaline?
Considering that Eric Johnson does use Fuzz Faces, that would make sense, then. There is in the Fuzz Face where the battery is part of the circuit. Alkaline gets a bit harsh in a Fuzz Face... It has nothing to do with voltage or sag, but the battery's inductance and capacitance.
In everything else, i doubt there's a difference.
The ONLY thing I could imagine is different between carbon and alkaline 9V batteries as far as function is if there's a difference in voltage sag upon increased current draw. It could be like the difference between different rectifier tubes that are functionally interchangeable within the same amp.
However, that's just theoretical, and I have not a freakin' clue if that's even what happens.
Yes, fuzz pedals. There is in the Fuzz Face where the battery is part of the circuit. Alkaline gets a bit harsh in a Fuzz Face... It has nothing to do with voltage or sag, but the battery's inductance and capacitance.
