Alright so if you guys aren't familiar with the Fender Jag Blacktops they're a simplified Fender Jaguar that comes in two versions, one with 2 P90-type pups and one with 2 Humbuckers.
I picked up a body of a Jag blacktop that's routed for the P90's just like this one below:
http://i.ebayimg.com/t/2012-Vintage-RI-Fender-Blacktop-Jaguar-90-BODY-Guitar-2-Color-Sunburst-/00/s/NzUwWDEwMDA=/$(KGrHqV,!isE-lFk,JkyBPtrpv03Z!~~60_12.JPG
and here's a picture of a Jag Blacktop routed for Humbuckers:
http://i.ebayimg.com/t/2011-Vintage-RI-Fender-Blacktop-HH-Jaguar-BODY-Guitar-15-OFF-/00/s/NzUwWDEwMDA=/$(KGrHqYOKnEE7ELwvgVHBO))IVWm,!~~60_12.JPG
Now for the first of my two questions. am I gonna have to do any modifications to the body's routes to fit the Humbuckers? I'm guessing yes, but I'm not sure.
Now for the second question.
this is what a Jag Blacktop loaded w/ P90's looks like:
http://i.ebayimg.com/t/LOADED-Fender-Blacktop-Jaguar-90-BODY-Guitar-HH-Jag-P-90s-Sunburst-/00/s/NzUwWDEwMDA=/$T2eC16JHJHoE9n3Kd6FdBQEyt)yBew~~60_12.JPG
And this is what a jag blacktop loaded w/ HB's looks like:
http://i.ebayimg.com/t/LOADED-Fender-Blacktop-Jaguar-BODY-Guitar-HH-Jag-Guitar-Humbuckers-Silver-/00/s/NzUwWDEwMDA=/$T2eC16RHJHwE9n8ihqVPBQJ(SPCM1w~~60_12.JPG
Notice, the body loaded w/ P90's has them floating in the pickguard much like HB's do in Stratocaster's pickguard. But the Jag w/ the humbuckers uses the rings to sit the humbuckers in. assuming I'd have to get a custom pickguard (or do i?) what would I have to do to load the body w/ humbuckers and put them in without the plastic pickup rings and have the humbuckers float right out of the pickguard like they do when you put humbuckers in strats?
sorry if these 2 questions are confusing, if I can clarify anything to help anybody answer them by all means ask me what the heck I'm talking about and I hope I can explain my questions better. But Thanks ahead of time for any input/suggestions.
btw--i used to be on these forums all the time under another name that I can't remember years ago. but it's good to be back, looking forward to having good discussions with the great folks on these forums.
