A Couple of Tele Questions

Re: A Couple of Tele Questions

Never tried the wiring.

My Antiquitys are wax potted and I have zero problems with squeeling. The Antiquity lead is dipped is black wax...that's part of the look of those pickups.

What I didn't know about Telecasters is ALOT! After doing the Ultimate Tele test, I've learned that if you want a neck pickup that sounds as strong as a Strat, that's fine: but you'll lose the chimey, bright, jangle of the neck and bridge pickups combined if the neck pickup is as strong and powerful as a Strat.

I never thought I'd do it, but a couple of days ago I pulled the Fralin Blues Special neck pickup from my '54 Tele and replaced it with a covered Fralin Stock neck pickup.

The coverd neck pickup doesn't sound as good by itself, but the middle switch setting is now ALOT CHIMIER when the neck and bridge pickups are combined.

Doesn't the website say they're not wax potted?

Very interesting...I personally like the look of a nickel silver-covered Tele neck pickup.

I dunno about the website, but I guarantee you the lead pickup is dipped in black wax. 100% certain about that. lew
