A fat strat modification

Hi all! I'm new here and I was wondering if I could do the following to my fat strat:
Neck - Hot Rails, Middle - some bridge pickup, Bridge - a Shadow pickup

I'm wondering if a Bridge pickup would work in the middle position..
I also have a PATB-2 on my Ibanez, I also might use that on my strat.
Tell me what you think!

Re: A fat strat modification

Welcome!

I don't see why it wouldn't work... the best way to find out is to wire it up and see :)
If it sounds good, it worked. If it sucks, then it didn't.

Lol... that's sortta my philoshopy.. but It gets expencive after a few guitars.

I was thinking abut hot rails in the neck and JB junior in the middle, as in sort of Iron Maiden Hybrid.

Some times you have to spend hard earned money to find the Tone you are looking for. When you will find the right Duncan combination, you will be in Tone Heaven. :smoker:

Re: A fat strat modification

I should hope so.. SD pickups are more expencive here acrossthe pond than in the U.S.

So, has anyone tried a bridge pickup in the middle position?

Re: A fat strat modification

I notice you mentioned the Shadow pickup, If its an active pickup you will not be able to use it with passive pickups.

Re: A fat strat modification

I will, actually.. it's designed that way, I think..
And even if it isn't, I'm planning on a two circuit guitar anyway.. one with the active Shadow and passive SDs on the other..
