A few quick questions

Alright, well I have a '91 Telecaster Plus, the one that comes stock with a Lace Blue in the neck and Red Duallys in the bridge. Now I just have a few questions. My first question is fitting. Are they the same size and everything as a normal Strat pickup? And I'm assuming that normal humbuckers will fit easily, I just don't know if I need regular or f-spacing with the pickup ring, I know I can't have a covered version. With all that said, I'm looking at getting a Lil' 59 in the neck and a regular '59 in the bridge. I love the feel of the Tele, I just kind of want more of a classic, hard rock edge to my playing, more classic sounding than the Lace pups give, and also a more unified sound. The mixture of different Lace styles is too great I feel, and I like the sound of classic Alnico pups. I'm not looking for metal tones, at most Slash and Aerosmith style of gain, both of which normally use Les Pauls, which is why I would assume the '59s are the best fit. I was also interested in the Screaming Demon set, or any others that anyone could recommend. I just want there to be classic clarity, cause of course I will be needing clean tones as well. I don't mean to sound like a new player who wants everything in one pickup, I know that's not possible, but I just want to make sure I'm clear on the guidelines of what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance!

Re: A few quick questions

Welcome to the forum.

The plastic covers of the Sensors are, indeed, exactly the same size as those of a regular Stratocaster single coil pickup.

Usually, on those Nineties Tele Deluxes, the Dually is mounted via three screws through a metal surround. In order to fit a Seymour Duncan Trembucker, you will need to replace the mounting surround. A metal covered Trembucker will fit through the plastic mounting surround supplied with the pickup. (Thus far, any colour you like so long as it's black.) A Trembucker-width Triple Shot mounting surround would be a wise investment.

Re: A few quick questions

Thanks for the information. As for the Triple Shot mounting ring, the Telecaster already comes with a mini-toggle to control the Dually humbucker, so I don't think that would be much of an issue at all, no sense in putting the extra money in it.
