od-3 into hm-2

hm-2 :
level 9 o`clock
low 12
high 12
dist 9

od-3:
level 3
gain at zero
tone ...i keep it at 10ish

into a semi dirty amp.
i guess instead of od-3 you can use any kind of OD...

It's better when you use a MT-2 instead. Those annoying nasal sounds the Metal Zone is known for, make some awesome fuzz tones when combined with my OD-3.
+ I can get real close to the highly compressed Brian May sound with the MT-2 and OD-3.

nice to find new ways to use those, for most people, unusable pedals.
i`ll put a clip latter today...i hope.

How do you like that od-3?

Of all Boss' dirt pedals, that one is calling out for my attention like a box of twinkies at a teen weight-loss camp. I need to check it out.

Ugh, OD-3 is a super underrated, more transparent, non-TS OD pedal.

The HM-2 is a classic.

Both are hardly unuseable.

+1, I equate it to a Rat-lite. If you expect it to tighten up your sound like a TS you'll be disappointed.

Years back my metal tone was an boss Xtortion into my HM2 into my old bassman head......Was able to get a very focused Swedish type tone with a little better highs....Could nail dissection tones pretty good too.....
