A little speaker flavor shootout kind of thing

I installed a new Eminence DV 77 Divinity speaker today in my 1960a cab., so I wanted to listen to it comparatively.

Nothing scientific or studio worthy, just some quick flavors.

It may have just become my new favorite speaker btw.. . Instantly love it!

absolutely agree. mic angle and proximity and things like that make a huge difference to the tone, but still, cool to hear the differences

I've never tried an Eminence I liked, but these seem really interesting. Just a bit dark, but that would fit the Mode Four quite well.

Killer tones, man! I miss my Mode Four.

I bet the dv77 and manowar would blend perfectly.

I think you're right on with that.

I'd totally do it too, but I built the cabinet on the left as a high powered (100w and 120w speakers) cab to handle the mode four, and the one on the right for all my other amps.

Maybe in my next cab lol
I may actually pull my T75 out and replace it with another DV 77. I'm going to give it a couple weeks/months of play time so the newness wears off and I can be more objective. I'm too impulsive and I know it.

Great head to head. Couple I will suggest that have become favorites of mine are the the ET series and the Retro 30 from WGS. Really like both lines from them and will take a Retro 30 in an open back 1/12 over any Celestian I have used. The ET 10 in my Mesa Subway Rocket is just jaw dropping when miced.
This is the little Boogie with a ET 10 WGS miced and running nothing but a little delay and verb in the loop and at a super low stage level.

That 77 is niceeeee and my fav at those settings. then the T-75 for me.... but I know you have a the same amp EQ on all of them and those other speakers may do better on other AMP settings.

2 77s and 2 75s in a 4x12 may be badass too

I've since, ordered another DV77 and replaced the other T75 in that cab, it sounds great with the V30s. Over this summer break I may pull the 30s and swap back in the 75s just to sample new tones...see how I like those mixed.
