I'm very surprised you even need a boost.....don't those Peavey things generally have enough gain to slay the proverbial metal white horse from a range of several miles??

I would dare say most modern metal guys use boosts with 5150's and their ilk. Its not about gain. Its about tightening up the amps response.

I use it to tighten my amp, not give it more gain, with volume up it gives a little more crunch so i can lower my gain, get more clarity and a tighter bass response... and narsty fizz and such.
