A pick up between a SH-4 and the SH-11 (Bridge)

Re: A pick up between a SH-4 and the SH-11 (Bridge)

A few questions…

#1 Why not use the tone control? Just roll it back a touch. Or a lot?

#2 This makes me wonder about a JB/CC hybrid!?!?!?!?!

#3 I am a huge fan of the JB8 - have you tried that? Probably not as "in the middle" but definitely a step that way. Or perhaps a JB2? An A2 / A8 mag swap is like $2

Q1>haha well i am not really a fan of the tone knob at all, i had my guitar guy disable it, but make it a coil split knob

Q2>that would be EPIC :D , i have not tried the SH-15 yet but it sounds like it would be an amazing 7 string pick up

Q3>well i am a fan of A7X , but aren't the invaders kind of a one trick pony? and i heard they don't sound that good on a clean channel

Re: A pick up between a SH-4 and the SH-11 (Bridge)

I know it does not answer your question but what you describe is the reason why I switch between to bridge on lower strings and neck con higher strings and frets.

i see what ur saying, but the sound on the neck is totally different from what i am looking for, especially since i have a duncan antiquity II 60's strat surf pick up in the neck

for the high gain stuff i would like to be able to use a multi purpose bridge pick up, and for cleans i switch to the middle or neck positions

Re: A pick up between a SH-4 and the SH-11 (Bridge)

That seems so simple, 4+11=15 ;)
But I think this should be SH-7.5 which lies exactly half way between SH-4 and SH-15 ;)

hahaha thats exactly what i thought

4+11 = 15

i wonder if that was intentional on seymour duncans side

^^
I still think that the UOA5 is a better choice. Or even a regular thickness Ceramic. What I really wonder would sound like is a UOC8 with it. Hmmmm...

>>already ordered the alternative 8, if its not what i am looking for i will give that a shot =)

I do like the Alt8, don't get me wrong, it is a very loud heavy pickup with great harmonics.
