A question on a Charvel guitar.

It goes like this....

A buddy of mine at work is no longer capable of playing guitar due to a motorcycle accident. He approaced me with an offer of selling his Charvel. Not sure what the model is but it has a reverse headstock and a tele style body Yellow/with a dark Yellow pinstripe with a jackson bucker.

Anybody know what this guitar could fetch in fair condition? Ebay has failed me on a guesstimate!

Sounds like a Model 7, which fetch around 450 or so.

Well he wasn't a serious player......though riding crotch rockets was.

The bone snapped through his muscle and nerves on his left hand so there isn't any coordination on his fret hand anymore. Other than that hes fine.

I´d have to see it, or at least have more info... Could be a legend, a Model 7, a "Teleist" or a USA Bolt on Tele, (and I think there was even a tele wshape during the Professional days...) prices range between 250$ for the legend in really beat shape to >5k+ for a San Dimas Teleist in mint condition ;)

Re: A question on a Charvel guitar.

I just found out it isn't a bucker. It's got two Jackson Single Coils. I'll be getting it monday or possibly tomorrow if he is home while Im the area(I'll be getting O.T!) Im really jazzed on getting this. My next guitar was gonna be a tele style guitar too!

All my life, I've wanted a motorcycle, and the above scenario is the only reason I haven't ever bought one. I don't know what I'd do if I messed up my hands.

Re: A question on a Charvel guitar.

Hmmm...I don't remember a humbucker one with that kind of finish.

I had one..bought it prolly in 1990 or so...it was a Sunburst (no pickguard) with with a normal Tele pup config and a reverse headstock. I LOVED that guitar. PLayed like a dream, and love that Tele bridge pup..talk about some wicked cool bite. I ended up giving it away to an aspiring player. I'd love to have another some day. I never have seen another in any guitar shops since then.

It's more and more sounding like the guitar you had. This guy only knows little about guitars......all the better for me! He tells me it has quite the bite too! I'll have some pics up soon.

Re: A question on a Charvel guitar.

gosh .. sorry to hear about your friend on the bike
I know of someone living in my area selling off his Charvel at about 500 USD and that is with a hardshell case
Nowaday I think the newer once are quite expensive though, especially the EVH.

Re: A question on a Charvel guitar.

Update here is some pics.....
Im tired boys.....my wife is going to give me hell for staying up so late. Lets see there is TOO MUCH more to do. This guitar needed alot of care! I still have to do some soldering trying to get some ugly stickers off and leveling a fret a little (there is a nasty spur) and thats about it. Good night! i'll update and get better pictures when im done.

So much for the Yellow description eh? Looks like cream and a top on it.

Re: A question on a Charvel guitar.

Damn dude, that kicks ass! Very cool!

Looks like a Model 7 to my eyes ;).

Re: A question on a Charvel guitar.

That's a very, very nice guitar! I really do feel sorry for your friend though.. I would hate to see the look on his face right now.

I would say that's almost CERTAINLY a model 7 with a reversed headstock

Reverse headstock and Import Logo : Model 7... Unless it´s a parts mutt ;)

Re: A question on a Charvel guitar.

+111111 for the model 7. I want one. Whatever price you paid for it, great score!

Re: A question on a Charvel guitar.

Yup thats the Charvel I had. Albeit mine was a 2 or 3 tone burst (cannot remember).

Oddly enough, it was a better Tele than the couple Fenders I owned. Tone was better, played MUCH better (prolly cos of the neck radius), pups were better. That thing would chunk and bite. really wish I still had it, cos I've had some mild GAS for a Tele lately.

Great score! Congrats!
