Hi Everyone
I've searched the forums and posted before but I would like some advice on setting up my Floyd Rose. In the past I have always gone to a reputable tech who has done a great job, its extremely rare that my guitar (Jackson Rhoads) goes out of tune (it has a licensed Rose). I've got a bad indentation in my E string that results in fret buzz around fret 3 but since its been a while since the strings were changed I've decided its time to do it myself. What I want to do is completely take all the strings off and clean the whole guitar, frets, board, bridge etc and really give it a good clean.
However, when it gets re-strung I want to play in Eb rather than standard tuning for good so I know that I'm going to have to alter the claw spring(?). I'm usually pretty good at following instructions so I'm sure there are web resources to help. I'd also like your comments please. What I would like to ask is this:
1. Is it recommended to take all the strings off for cleaning? Is it easier to restring by changing one at a time?
2. If I want to retune to Eb permenantly is it better to restring normally, get in tune and then go about going to Eb or go right from the beginning?
3. I have a volume knob that keeps spinning so I'm guessing some kind of washer or switch has broken somewhere. Is this easy to fix?
Sorry for the long post guys. Hope someone understands me
Thanks for reading.
