No, not the Hendrix song...the Pointer Sisters! Yeah, I don't get to spend my time coming up with cool, original riffs and songs...I get to try and figure out how to make a decent guitar solo where there is supposed to be organ or keyboards! Life in a cover band...
Actually, it is fun. I've learned a bunch of new songs, am learning a lot about my own abilities and am now learning how to best use all this new-fangled digital technology!
So I worked out this solo for the song and figured out how to convert it to an MP3 and upload it to SoundCloud.
This was done using a Boss Micro BR. I didn't mess with the patches, other than to set the levels, so the tones aren't that great (and it is after all entirely digital), but my main goal was to create a decent solo spot for the song. Like most pop songs, the instrumental break is short and sweet (well, I hope it's sweet):
