A2 '59 vs. Seth Lover - direct comparisons?

Anyone done a direct comparison of an A2 '59 vs. a stock Seth Lover? Lots of scattered comments about this in the Forum, but no dedicated thread that I can find. I'm very curious about how close these are to each other. (And, by association, how close the A2 59 is to an Antiquity).

I plan to try this myself as soon as my A2 shipment arrives, (thanks to all for the tip on Wymore) and I'll report the results. But I'd love to hear from others who've already done this comparison.

Comparing APH, Seth and Antiquity I find that the Antiquity has some "life" to it that is just missing from production pickups that are fully potted. The Seth is pretty much in between.

There are some wind differences, the Seths have neck and bridge very close, the Ants have a heavier bridge wind.

I am very interested in this too. I play a lot of 80s stuff but like getting the powerful metal sounds of today with a simple EQ change on my amp or ME pedal.

I currently have a C8 in a Maple Body Kramer Baretta (very bright guitar) and it is superior to the 598 that I had in it. But I wanted to put the Zebra back in my Baretta to maintain the vintage look...this would require me to put back in the 59....I was just wondering if the A2 would keep the fat mids..the A5 sounded pretty good..but so far I am thinking the C8 is sounding really good.

Shinobi, now you have me curious about comparing 592 vs. 598, in addition to Seth & Ant. I will have to add the 598 to my list of experiments. I just stocked up on mags - A2, 3, 4, 5 & 8.

I absolutely love the Seth, A2P, and CC, which are Duncan's bread-and-butter A2/symmetric pups. Pearly Gates is great in some guitars, but for my taste it's thin and trebly in most. I guess I'm hoping that a 592 will be a new variation on the Seth & A2P formula.

When you find out, let me know. I put an A2 '59 in my McCarty but don't have a Seth for comparison. I was curious about the Seth and found the Pearly gates to brite, so thought I'd try the A2 in the '59 since I had both.

Honestly, I didn't appreciate the cliche until I aged a bit discount golf clubs. As I began writing about golf in college and up through today (bordering on nine years now), I grew interested in golf participation. Why in the world would people play golf? Hittin' a goofy dimpled r9 irons white ball through the woods, getting mad, and paying a lot of money to do it seems kind of ridiculous on the surface. And that's just for older people. ishiner

I personally get the best distance using a driver and hitting a Pearly Gates bridge. For accuracy, however, I back it down to a three-wood and an Alnico II Pro neck. I believe, though, that hitting a Duncan pickup with a golf club voids the warranty.

Howdy,

What do you mean by the "?", Gibson175? Don't you know that hitting your Seymour Duncan P/U with a Golf club voids your warranty? Some people just won't learn. ;)
