A2 in a pearly gates plus?

i have a PG+ and i quite like it.
i understand that these were designed as a PGb with a volume/output boost, and the A5 was used to compensate the effect of adding a few hundred turns on the resonant peak;
if i were to swap an A2 in, how far from a regular PGb would it be? would this be closer to a PGb, or be noticeably darker?

A2 should be nice in a PGB+, and close to a regular PGB. There weren't enough turns added to make it much darker.

I hads a PG+ in the bridge spot of my black strat and hated it....Was a bright pickup..An A2 magnet would be great...The PG+ was an ever so lightly overwound PG..These days the DMZ Fred has replaced it.....

The UOA5 in a 59 is great also,though mine is in a 59B.

not to de-fib this thread, but i'm planning on experimenting with an A2 and A3 in mine.
