I put a A2 in a modified HB-102 (nickel silver baseplate, brass screws, etc) and love it - sounds great.
Put an A2 magnet in a real JB and it was pure nasty - no bass, midrange sounded like it was coming from an old transistor radio, not much there I could use.
Conclusion - The JB and the HB-102 are really two different animals.
