A2 or A5 in mahogany w/Floyd?

What do you think guys? I have a GMW Bengal Tiger w/Floyd mahogany body with a maple board. I'm torn between Alnico 2 or 5 magnets. I really like the sound you get with the '59, Voodoo, '78EVH. But will it sound good in a mahogany guitar?
Thanks Chris.
P.S. Im getting it wound up to about just under 9k with 42 gauge wire.

I'm looking for a tone thats thick, cuts in the mids but not like a cocked wah, smooth, that stays open and not compressed, I don't like sharp attack, a nice enveloped attack on the high notes. I guess you can say "vintage" Thats why I'm basically getting an overwound PAF. I'm not sure which mag will sound best in this guitar. I imagine I can always swap mags later on.

I have a Wayne exotic rock legend Mahogany body w/maple cap a floyd and maple neck. It came with a JB and in that gutar it had too much of a mid spike for my tastes. I just put in a TB-14 and am really liking it.

Sounds like you are looking for the Original Parallel Axis Trembucker, or the Blues Trembucker if you want something slightly lower output. The OPAT worked in my Floyd equiped guitar, and made it sound thicker and meatier than ANYTHING else I have tried.

Don't be afraid of the K rating...it's does not sound as hot as it looks on paper...and it has a great clean voice as well.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to go with the A2 mag. It seems to be the most musical in the midrange.
