A2P Neck humbucker questions...

First up I'm a neewbie so please be gentle!

I want to put a nickel covered A2P in the neck position of my LP.
From reading around a bit my questions are these:
a) Will the nickel cover really make any tonal difference compared to open coils?
b) Are the A2P covered pups wax potted when thry're made?

Sorry if this has all been asnswered before but I can't seem to easily find the answers out there.

All I want to do is get the Jimmy Page look with the Slash sound!

The are potted. They will not sound much different with covers. Most people cannot tell, not enough for you not to get one like that. They are great sounding pups.
