Abbreviations

I'm assuming that SHR-1 is "Seymour Hot Rails", but does anyone know what the other abbreviations stand for like the SSL series??

That's a good question, DP .... but I haven't a clue. Welcome to the forum!

SHR = Seymour Duncan Hot Rail

SSL = Seymour Duncan SingLe or Single CoiL

SH-n (1,2,4,6,etc) = Seymour Duncan Humbucker <model number>

TB = TremBucker

AHB = Active HumBucker

APH = Alnico Pro Humbucker

PG = Pearly Gates

STK = Stack (2 coils stacked on top of each other on a single-coil-sized baseplate)

SDBR = Seymour DuckBuckeR

AS = Active Single coil

PA = Parallel Axis

SLnn/SD = Seymour Duncan Little (Lil 59/Screamin Demon etc)

JB I've heard as both Jeff Beck and Jazz/Blues (something to do with using the Artist's name without paying a royalty)

EVH = Evenly Voiced Harmonics (since Ed Van Halen won't even let you say his name in conversation without paying him a nickel)

APS = Alnico Pro for Strat

APTL = Alnico Pro Tele Lead

APTR = Alnico Pro Tele Rhythm

STL = Seymour Duncan Tele Lead

STR = Seymour Duncan Tele Rhythm

Disclaimer: I'm guessing on the above. I have been curious for a while as to what SSL stood for since most of the rest seem pretty logical.
