About how much should it cost?

I’m not very “handy” with tools. One of my best friends used to design circuit boards and stuff and IS very good at soldering. We actually gutted my EC-1000 years ago and put in a set of Gibson pups that to this day sound amazing in that guitar.

That being said, I got a set of Seymour Duncan’s (Pegasus/Sentient) that we are gonna install BUT ...because I’m impatient AF to get them installed I’m considering taking it to a repair shop for the work. What do you guys think is a fair price (in USD) to install the 2 pickups?

There are 2 volume pots, 1 tone pot that is push/pull.

Fair? $30

Realistic? $40-$80+ depending on the shop, more if you end up needing new strings, setup, etc

I say it is a good time to learn how to do it yourself. It isn't difficult and there are a ton of resources on this website (and on YT) to hold your hand along the way. You can do it!

Before I do it myself, I’ll just work with my friend again LOL

Thanks though ...I appreciate the feedback!

for the price of one install you can buy all the stuff you need to do it yourself. of course, having someone else do it is easier.

LOL ...and reduces the chances of me screwing it up by a 100%

The guitar guy I go to (when I decide to go to a guitar guy) charges $78 for installing and wiring up to three pickups. He's not cheap and not exorbitant on most things.

I would never pay for such a service, but I do think that is a fair price, for a professional with a real shop.
