so i have a Epiphone Korina Explorer, the stock pickups are fine, but i'm looking to bring it to the next level...

What i have read on this forum as well as other places online has lead me to believe that an sh-5 custom bridge and Pearly Gates neck would work for me.
I play all types of hard rock, classic metal, and southern rock from the 60's to the 90's ( to give you an idea, lynyrd skynyrd, iron maiden, Van halen alice in chains soundgarden led zeppelin hendrix etc are some of my favorite bands.

So as you can see i'm looking for something good but also versatile enough to cover all those different styles well.

So does anyone have some last minute advice for me? or should i go through with it and order them?

Thanks

Also i have looked into the custom 5 but find it too scooped for my tastes so that's not an option.
But what about the Custom custom? would that be better for what i'm looking for

CC should be out, it won't have any highs in that guitar.

DC and C5 start out sounding somewhat similar on light play and then are entirely different once you play harder. The DC starts compressing and singing, but only if it has a fat guitar to back it up. The C5 will just get louder and be very dynamic. How that sound depends on how much your rig compresses.

My recommendation would be to look into the DD (although that won't do Van Halen) and the '78.

Pearly is a great choice for the neck.

I'd consider Screamin Demon or '59 for the bridge.

I run a C8/59b combo in my explorer and it rips. The Custom / PG choice you have made would be very good too! The PG would have alil more sizzle in the neck. The Custom is a great pickup too for all types of rock and metal. I prefer the C8 as it gives me alil more of an organic tone.
