Acoustic Bass Guitar - Chateau

I'm about to place an order on a Chateau, unseen and rather cheap model, 24 frets and looking good.

Most of these basses are useless unplugged other than practice, but this one I will defret and string with 050 flats. Looking for a portable instrument for moderate volume.

Here is a recording with bronze wounds, and it still has some sound unplugged. I will likely replace the preamp with an ashtray if I can find

I think I will coat the fingerboard with a thin layer of hardening resin after filling the fret spores with wood paste.

I really liked the Dean EABs–great tone and volume for under $200
