Re: Acoustic Diddy....

All technical recording details aside, I think you've captured a haunting atmosphere with that song, which really suits the lyric. You've got an interesting character to your voice, and I think it's a well written song. The feel changes are maybe a little clunky and you might find a smoother way to transition between them, but the idea still comes across. If you've got a condenser mic, or if you know someone who has, you'll get much better results on the acoustic, but I think you already know that. The song is worth re-recording with a condenser for both guitar and vocal. Really good work.

I dig it alot! The voice and the atmosphere is spot-on.The chod progression is common ,but effective...I dig the reverb on your voice ,and the "twang" of your guitar.Nice thing!

thanks guys, yeah i am thinking about re-recording it.....i just have to break out the ol 8-track....im curently using a Tone Port (no phantom power....so no condenser mic) this was just to lay the idea down.....and the orchestra was just some good ol' garageband boredom

You could always get an AKG C1000S, which has the option to run off a 9v battery. It's an electret condenser and they sound pretty good on acoustic guitars and vocals.

I use an AKG 525. I don't know if they still make them, I've had it for years. I bought it when I got my 4 track. Just getting into a Mac with Garage band. I just ordered a few other componants (MBox and monitors) as soon as they arrive I will be on my way.

This is a really nice piece. You should be proud of the song. A few recording upgrades and you should be on your way to some great sounding recordings.
