Acoustic guitar preamp

Hi,
I've got a Taylor 414 (not ce) and the guy at the shop threw in a fishman pickup. I want to get a preamp and install it on the guitar... and I want to make the right choice since I'm going to get someone to cut a hole in it!

Can anyone recommend a good one? I play mix of fingerstyle and strumming with a pick.

I'm also open to suggestions for a preamp that clips to my belt or sits on the floor... which saves me from chopping the guitar up.

Mamma Bear? Looked it up and it looks promising.
So I plug the pickup straight into that and use that as the preamp?
